Most people come to Donnell Lake for the area’s many lakes and natural spaces. However, there is more to experience around the lake. TK Lawless Park is only about five minutes from Donnell Lake. It is an 820-acre nature preserve with vast stretches of outdoor space and trails. It is also a dark sky park, so lighting is limited to provide a better view of the stars. Donnell Lake is less than an hour from South Bend and Kalamazoo. With these cities a short drive away, there are many attractions to enjoy. There are museums, dining, and more. The area around Donnell Lake also has some nice places to eat. The Friendly Grille and Tavern is just a short drive from the lake. Sherry Lee’s Bar and Grill is also a local favorite. Past Diamond Lake, there are also places like Broadway Cafe and The Twirl.
