With an area of 240 acres, Clear Lake is known for its sparkling blue waters. It also has a 3 miles of shoreline with an average of 20 foot depth, 31 feet being the deepest.  It’s perfect for kayaking.

Being close to other major lakes in the area like Long Lake, Corey Lake and Pleasant Lake, kayak rentals on Clear Lake are not hard to find. There are kayak rental shops on and nearby the lake. So if you are in for kayaking, here is a list of kayak rental shops on and near Clear Lake.

Corey Lake Marina

The marina on the beautiful Corey Lake offers motorized boat rentals as well as kayaks and canoes. If you prefer a self propelled experience over speed, Corey Lake Marina has the right kayak for you.

If it gets too crowded and fast paced, serenity on a kayak is just a few meters away at Clear Lake. Kayak rental is $10 per hour, $50 per day and $100 per week. You can pick up the kayak or have it delivered to Clear Lake for $40 each way.

Doe Wah Jack’s

If you are planning an enjoyable water adventure with less noise and speed, Doe Wah Jack’s can provide what you need. This shop is located in the neighboring Cass County near the Dowagiac River where its name was derived from (see what they did there?? lol). They provide full service canoe rentals as well as single and double kayaks. You will need a $10 deposit for advanced reservation for your canoe or kayak.

T & L Country Canoes

Already in their 9th year, T & L Country Canoes offers something new and exciting to do in the lakes of Southwest Michigan. They offer 2 seater kayaks and some merchandise that you may need for your trip like sunscreen and waterproof cases for your phones. They are open 7 days a week but require reservations. Kayak rentals start at $25.50 but if you rent 3, you’ll get a better deal at $45.50.

Kayaking is a great way to see the lake while getting some exercise to boot. It’s always nice to see the area from another perspective no matter where you are.
