Fishers Lake is a spring-fed lake just outside Three Rivers, Michigan. It is an all-sports lake covering over 320 acres with depths of up to 42 feet. The lake is about a half-hour from Kalamazoo and an hour from South Bend, Indiana. It takes about two and a half hours to travel to Chicago. With its all-sports designation, Fishers Lake offers a lot of fun on the water. It is also near a peaceful community and many natural spaces.

Fishers Lake Area Attractions

Along with lake activities, there is a lot to do near Fishers Lake. It is close to Three Rivers, so residents and visitors can enjoy the city’s many attractions. Kalamazoo is only about a half-hour drive from Fishers Lake. A trip to Kalamazoo can offer museums, Kalamazoo State Theatre, and more. The Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum in Portage, Michigan offers a fun experience for adults and children alike.

South Bend is about an hour away. A day trip to the city can offer an array of attractions. The University of Notre Dame is one reason to visit South Bend. Visitors can also enjoy museums, performing venues, and a range of other cultural activities. Scidmore Park is only about ten minutes from Fishers Lake. It is the largest park in Three Rivers. The park has a petting zoo, playgrounds, and other attractions.

The area around Fishers Lake has many places to eat. Fisher Lake Inn is a good choice right by the lake. Frankie’s by the Tracks and Landmark Taphouse are other local favorites. Cowboy Up is a good place for drinks and barbecue food.

Fishing: Fishers Lake offers good opportunities for fishing. You can fish from the shore or by boat. The lake has bluegill, bass, crappie, northern pike, and perch.

Boating: The lake is also popular for boating. You can bring your own boat or use rentals. Kayaking and canoeing are also great ways to enjoy the lake. There is a public boat launch on Lakeshore Drive, which is located on the west side of the lake.

Hiking and Biking: Several hiking and biking trails can be found near Fishers Lake. The Riverwalk Trail starts in nearby Scidmore Park and travels northward along the St. Joseph River. Covered Bridge Park, Pahl Point Park, and Hidden Marsh Sanctuary are also great choices for nature hikes.

Golfing: The area has a number of good golf courses. There are three within half an hour of the lake. These include Pine View Golf Club, Sauganash Country Club, and Island Hills Golf Club.
