Fishing is abundant for largemouth bass, northern pike, sunfish, yellow perch, and crappie. In 2016, the Michigan DNR stocked the lake with more than 2,600 walleye. A history, Paw Paw Lake, Michigan: A 100 Year Resort History (1890’s-1990’s), by Roderick L. Rasmussen, was published in 1994, and an e-book on one section,
Pomona Point Neighbors at Paw Paw Lake, by Stephen L. Myers, was published in 2016.

Many other local restaurants are in nearby Watervliet and Coloma, including the Board of Trade, The Bend bar and restaurant, and Eddie’s Drive-In West. The Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club hosts boat races and other events. The community is minutes away from Lake Michigan and the growing wine country attractions.
The Paw Paw Lake Association (pawpawlakeassociation.org), including all property owners on the water, works to maintain the safety and welfare of the lake, provide education, foster cooperation among the owners and with government officials. The Paw Paw Lake Foundation (pawpawlakefoundation.com) conducts research on water quality, tests the water, and treats the lake for algae and seaweed. It also works with state officials to control Canada geese and nuisance carp in the lake that contribute excess nutrients encouraging undesirable plant growth.
Paw Paw Lake is a perfect place for living the lake life in your home or your home away from home.
